THE HISTORY OF BABAKALE

   

        

        The history of Babakale goes back 1725. There was some turkoman  village near cape of Baba .Some pirates were  disturbing this villagers seizuring  their sheeps, goats,cows ext by violence. When 2th Ahmet, the sultan of Ottoman Empire come back to Istanbul from a sea war, He had a storm and had to go ashore in Cape of Baba. Villagers'd complained him their problems about pirates .

        2th Ahmet'd ordered his grand vizier to built a castle right away in Cape of Baba.A firman was anounced to all Ottoman.If  prisoners build a castle,mosque,some fountain and bath in here . They would be free after this. Many prisoners came here and they built these constructions in 3 years. After than a military guard post and some villagers were settled here.
